After a long time of intensive preparation and discussion the General Assembly finally starts. Under the moderation of the topical head-organizer of the EYP Friederike Handwerg and the EYP-trainer Celina Hollmichel the committee on TRANS opened the debate with the presentation of their motion for the resolution from the podium. What an amazing evening! Yesterday the delegates of every country performed their traditional and common songs with a matching dance choreography which they were supposed to prepare beforehand. However, the students did not only watch the performances of the foreign delegates but they were included in most dances so that finally there was a fantastic intercultural atmosphere and a highlight for everybody.

Not to forget is the hard work behind the scenes from our fantastic catering team. Organized by Mr Matthiensen, Mrs Kebbel and lots of other voluturay teachers from our school they managed the meals for more than 100 people. Some impression of the team are that... Games like "Never have I ever", "Ninja" and "Just Dance" are perfect to get to know each other better and to strengthen the teamspirit. By now everybody is getting along really well with their committees and especially at the photo challenge with tasks like photographimg the most ducks or a typical characteristic of their team they had a lot of fun. Today our European Youth Parliament finally started off with an opening speech by our principal Mrs Portius. She is convinced that it will be a time full of hard work but also much fun, laughter and many great new experiences. Yesterday morning the hosts of the five Romainian delegates from Hermannstadt/Sibiu could already greet their exchange students and also the ten Italians from Consenza arrived at 5:00 pm at our Weber school. Partially with a big pleasure of seeing some of the German students again because three of the Italians already took part in the EYP last year and came back to Eutin now.
